The Mouswald Trust
Supporting Archaeology in the Solway areas of Dumfries & Galloway and Cumbria since 1953
The Mouswald Trust is a charitable trust set up in 1953 by Robert Corsane Reid of Cleuchbrae, Dumfries, to provide funds for archaeological excavations in Scotland and England. Over the years, the Trust has awarded grants covering a wide range of excavation costs including, but not limited to:
– surveying sites
– purchasing, leasing, or acquiring sites
– the purchase or preservation of property and objects of archaeological interest
– the publication of Reports relating to excavations
Grants and Bursaries
Eligibility criteria
Any application for a grant from the Trust must relate to an archaeological excavation in Scotland or England. For further information, please see the Application Form under ‘How to Apply’
